THE STORY SO FAR…
In 2015, we embarked on our mission to transform The Leys’ old cricket pavilion into a vibrant, family-friendly café. Our goal was to provide a ‘home from home’ for the people of Witney to relax after a walk in the park or game of tennis.
Community Counts
Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to serving the community all year round, offering great value meals with ingredients sourced from local food producers in Oxfordshire. This is because we think it is important to do our bit for the environment and to support our local economy.
Activity Hub
We are passionate about bringing locals together by creating a hub of community activities, successfully hosting a range of social events, clubs and celebrations to achieve this aim.
We recognise the value of sport and recreation in helping to build stronger, healthier and safer communities. We hope that by encouraging locals to make use of the fantastic sports facilities on The Leys Recreation Ground, we can contribute towards strengthening social bonds and increasing physical activity in Witney.
Who are Courtside?
Same Team, New Name: You will have known us as The Coffee Shed and Premier Tennis so let us now introduce ourselves as Courtside. We’re the same team with the same mission, to bring people together and help them be active. We’re just finding new ways of achieving this and feel as though Courtside better reflects what we do. VONNIE WHALLEY
GENERAL MANAGER
Meet our General Manager, who generally manages everything at the Shed. A 25-year catering career has led her to life at The Coffee Shed, taking in schools, colleges and even a garden centre or two along the way.
Vonnie describes herself as a campaigner for customer care, and takes a stand against blank-faced barista-ing. She is the chief architect of our cheeriness and keeps sincerity in our smiles!

SAPHRON DRISKELL
Assistant Manager
With a career spanning everything from pot-washing to place-setting, Saph keeps everything and everyone ticking over at the Shed.
With a tireless work ethic, Saph loves the buzz that comes from a busy coffee house, and is an expert at getting things done while ensuring no corners are cut. We are delighted to have her expertise fuelling the beating heart of The Coffee Shed - the kitchen!
